One Bowl Brownies

As much as I LOVE baking, there are times where I must admit I dread it. Why?

The dishes.

So.
Many.
Dishes.
All.
The.
Time.

Because baking is so precise and all measurements need to be exact (meaning you can't just throw everything in a pot and call it a day, like cooking 😂), I always find my dishes piling up. Dishes for my dry ingredients, my wet ingredients, different measuring cups and spoons and yadda, yadda, yadda.

So when I figured out a way to make at least ONE dessert dish that didn't break my back while cleaning up, I knew I had to share it. Here are my one bowl brownies! Everything is thrown into one bowl. The butter is melted in the same bowl that the cocoa powder and flour and everything else are thrown into.

And the best part? These brownies are so fudgy and chocolatey and oh-so-delicious. Give them a try! The dishes after, or lack thereof, can wait.

ONE BOWL BROWNIES
Yields: 1 8x8 or 9x13 pan

INGREDIENTS:
- 10 tablespoons of butter, cut up into pieces
- 1 & 1/4 cups of sugar
- heaping 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips are optional

TO MAKE:
1. In a big microwave safe bowl, melt the butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until the butter is completely melted. Stir everything together nicely once the butter is melted.
2. Add in the vanilla and eggs. Mix everything together.
3. Add in the flour. With a wooden spoon or spatula, fold everything together until no lumps of flour remain. If using chocolate chips, fold them in after the flour.
4. In a 9x3 inch pan lined with parchment paper, add the brownie batter and spread out evenly with the back of a spoon.
5. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25-30 minutes until the brownies are baked through.
6. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
7. Enjoy! I topped the brownies here with peanut butter. They can be left as is or topped with anything you like!
