Greek Feta Burgers
Happy Ramadan! I hope the first couple of days weren't a killer. Aside from the lack of caffeine and the massive headaches I've had, it's been good so far over here!
For me, the first day of Ramadan always meant a great, filling meal. Growing up, I would always be in the kitchen helping my mom prep for that night's iftar (meal eaten at sunset to break our day's fast). I always remembered waking up and asking first thing, "What's for iftar?!" Not to mention that the first few days are ALWAYS the hardest, so I've always felt that iftar meals should be the most delicious and filling.
Being married now and having my own kitchen (and being the only cook in the house!), I knew I still wanted that "first few days of Ramadan" feeling. I still want to wake up and feel excited for iftar.
That being said, this dinner was brought to you by Midamar Halal. They were so kind and generous enough to gift me a huge box full of meat and chicken to use in my recipes during Ramadan! I'm so excited, and right when I received my package I knew what I immediately wanted to make first:

Delicious Meat and Chicken from Midarmar Halal |
Greek Feta Burgers.
I typically don't cook with beef or meat simply because I prefer to handle chicken and fish when I cook, but if you ask anyone- burgers are ALWAYS my go-to meals whenever I eat out. I can live off of them for the rest of my life. And since Midamar Halal's products are all halal, pure, and fresh, I knew I was in for a good day in the kitchen- both for cooking AND eating!

When iftar time rolled around, I wasted no time. I dug into the burgers I made and they were some of the juiciest burgers I've ever bit into to.

If you try my recipe, I'd love to hear about it! Don't forget to check out Midamar Halal for all your halal meat and chicken needs!

GREEK FETA BURGERS
Yields: 8 4 ounce patties
INGREDIENTS:
- 32 ounces of Midamar Halal Pure Ground Beef
- 2 tablespoons of feta cheese
- 6 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of Greek Mediterranean seasoning
- 2-3 tablespoons of butter
TO MAKE:
1. Combine the ground beef, feta cheese, mixed garlic, and spices in a bowl. Mix well. If there are big chunks of feta cheese, break them up with your fingers and make sure the feta is evenly incorporated into the beef mix.
2. Measure out the meat into 4 ounce burgers. Shape the meat into burger patties.
3. In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter on medium-high heat. Once melted, add a few patties to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side (flipping once) until cooked through or to your liking. As you're cooking the meat, cover the skillet.
4. Place patties on a baking sheet in a preheated 250 degree F oven until all patties are cooked and ready to serve, to keep them warm as you finish cooking the patties.
5. Serve on lettuce or burger buns. Top with preferred burger toppings. Enjoy!
* I sandwiched the burger patties between lettuce leaves since I'm following the keto diet. I also made a homemade tzatziki sauce using sour cream (instead of yogurt), olive oil, and cucumbers!
